All our guests ask us about the meaning of the name 'Scriattola' 
It is not a place, not an animal, not an amuleth... it is only a peculiar word that our grand-ma Delia used in order to lovely name a baby or a small child: in fact, 'Scriattola' means something like 'little creature' (s-criat-tola -> creat-ure )
Nonna (grand-mother) Delia, in the early decades of XX century was an authentic "country" cook. She was called all around in the surroundings for weeddings, ceremonies, banquets and rural feasts.

Her gastronomic art was based on simply but tasteful recipes with genuine ingredients.

We have founded our modern Holiday Farm on the basis of such cultural legacy of our family, coming from Nonna Delia: in fact, we want to offer to our guests all the genuine atmosphere of the old-time italian country life, with traditional gastronomy and hospitality;  therefore, it is simply to understand why we baptized our Farm with the name 'Scriattola', that peculiar word of our grand-ma Delia personal slang...

Not only... the word 'Scriattola' was employed also by the great poet Giuseppe Gioacchino Belli with an analogous meaning — “……'Na vecchia e 'na Scriattola…..”
